Arosa Sport Relay Race, |
| As on the 10 August 1947 the starter’s gun to the first Arosa Sport relay race went off, probably no one believed, that 60 years later this sport event with its 10 disciplines between “Unter-“ and “Obersee” still takes place. Was it in the beginning local teams (TV and EHC) that were in the first positions, so is it now primarily the gymnastics clubs from Dübendorf, Hausen a.A. and Felsberg, which are on top of the winning list. As for the disciplines, some corrections (single touring bikes with back pedal brakes have been replaced by high-tech bikes, and shooting with small caliber rifles by airguns, and inline skating displaced the cross-country run) have been made. But the rest, remained mostly like the pioneers have initiated it. Versatility is asked Also in this year the traditional 10 discipline competition starts at the idyllic “Untersee”. From there a mountain runner brings up the relay race stick to the shore of the “Obersee”. There it must be brought over the lake in a rowboat, further via cyclists, road runners and inline skaters to the sport facilities. There the race will be finished with climbing, shooting (six balloons) and a run into the finish. If you want to master a time under 18 minutes, and so achieve a place in a leading position, no weakness in any discipline is allowed. The particularly ticklish disciplines prove always to be the rowing, climbing and of course the shooting. In series of five, the 60 teams are sent on the race from 10.30 - 15.50 o’ clock (depending on applications), in reverse order of last year's ranking. This keeps the tension high, but also the first starting teams deliver very good performances. Classic Car Rally 9th-12th September 2010 |
| In 2010, the international “Arosa Classic Car” alpine hill climb will be held, for the sixth time, from 9th – 12th September. Valuable oldtimers will race 76 curves over a distance of 7.8 kilometres from Langwies to Arosa, a spectacle that will enchant the many spectators. Numerous side events and attractions, such as the paddock at the “Obersee Arosa”, will provide a range of entertainment for the 10,000 expected visitors. |
